Evolution is an intuitive, organically-formed pyrography piece created on a striking slab of live edge sycamore. The natural split in the wood became part of the composition, guiding the piece’s transformation as it developed. Burned slowly over 25 hours, this artwork emerges from the grain itself, shifting, growing, and revealing forms that feel both ancient and otherworldly.
With its deep tonal contrasts, flowing textures, and raw imperfections, Evolution bridges the line between fine art and natural artefact. The piece is sealed in a clear polyurethane finish to preserve its detail and ensure long-lasting durability.
